International Missions
Check out the international missions that strengthen scientific and academic cooperation in Paraná with institutions around the world, promoting innovation and knowledge exchange.
Historically, Brazil and Japan have stood out as solid partners in scientific cooperation. Paraná, anchored in decades of strong ties of friendship with Japan, seeks to expand its academic and scientific relations, strengthening collaboration between its State Universities and Japanese Universities and Research Institutions. This effort is aligned with the guidelines established by the State Council of Science and Technology, with an emphasis on priority research areas.
In the year in which we celebrate 130 years of friendship and exchange between Brazil and Japan, the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Paraná (SETI) and the Araucária Foundation, with the support of the University of Tsukuba, will carry out the Mission “Paraná-Japan Scientific Dialogues for Innovation in Food”, which will bring together a group of renowned Japanese scientists, professors and researchers, led by the University of Tsukuba.
During the visit, to be held from March 15 to 22, 2025, this group will engage with our State Universities and Research Centers, fostering scientific exchanges and identifying concrete opportunities for collaboration.
We believe that this initiative will significantly contribute to strengthening cooperation between Paraná and Japan, creating new opportunities and consolidating strategic partnerships that will boost the internationalization of our institutions.
This mission aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area of Agritech Food. We intend to promote a fruitful dialogue between professors and researchers, aiming at the elaboration of proposals for joint projects in five main sub-themes:
- Inputs and Agricultural Economy
- Animal and Plant Genetic Engineering
- Automation of Agricultural Processes
- Advanced Diagnostic Methods and Techniques for Animal and Plant Diseases
- Functional Foods
